Job description

STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Facilities Operations and Maintenance Manager within the Plant Facilities Department.

 

The Facilities Operations and Maintenance Manager is responsible for operation, maintenance, repair, measurement and reporting on all facilities plant, Building and systems, and all critical base facilities systems.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership and direction for the maintenance team composed of engineers and technicians in a 24/7 operations.
  • Leading the team by walk the talk, motivate, mentor, and set objectives, manage performance, review their salary.
  • Managing maintenance operations and maintenance budget, forecast.
  • Providing effective communications to internal customers and facilities team.
  • Managing maintenance contracts, negotiate, review and improve SLAs at yearly basis to ensure best service at lower cost.
  • Managing site services: cleaning, building maintenance, gardening, their contracts and SLA.
  • Maintaining all necessary tracking and system reporting.
  • Managing escalation and reactive problems when arise.
  • Overseeing the compliance to quality specifications of daily operation and maintenance of facilities plants, distribution and building.
  • Maintaining the critical facilities systems to a level that meets the SPC and Cpk quality targets as defined by Facilities Engineering.
  • Develop individuals, identified correct training, hire candidates and set up individual career progression and succession plan.
  • Managing OPEX budget of facilities department.
  • Ensuring that a comprehensive TPM program is fully operational and effective, including: reliability centered maintenance; preventative and predictive maintenance program.
  • Ensuring that all personnel have a thorough awareness of FMEA, OCAPs, recovery plans, cost models, operating procedures, certification documents, and all encompassing troubleshooting procedures.
  • Preparing and presenting weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to facilities director and senior management team and central function.

 

Profile

Skills & Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate shall:

 

 

  • Possess B.Eng. (Hons) degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical) 
  • Have proven experience in managing teams of professionals, engineers and technicians and large number of contractors
  •  Have training/experience/knowledge with TPM, TQM and plant maintenance methodologies and philosophies
  • Possess good experience with Facilities operational systems (which includes but is not limited to: HVAC, electrical distribution, Facilities Management System, Process Cooling Water, Exhaust, chemical, DI water, etc. Must have good written, verbal and presentation skills.  Effective and timely interfacing with all organizations (Factory maintenance and other support functions) 
  • Be able to work under pressure and with priorities that may change according with business requirements.

 

Masters in Engineering shall be considered as an asset.
