Job description

Manage BE operations for DAC Division and is responsible for the effective management of productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of testing,  information flow and reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems.  

He or she can be exposed to customers meetings and reporting and must interact with internal and external departments or suppliers (i.e. OSAT, GOBM, ST FE manufacturing and in some cases TSMC)

Responsibilities may include planning, in accordance with budget allocated to DAC in collaboration with the div manager, PE, PM, Design teams.

Requires 15-20 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management. Directly manages and directs Operational staff.

Responsibilities:

Direct and coordinate the development and implementation of BE activities to meet production, quality and cost objectives with time to volume, productivity (NRT), yield and test time (CSP and EWS) as final indicators
Contribute FE operations information and recommendations and alignment with technical and financial expectations plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems
Support central operation team of ASG on technology transfer
Support of FE audits; identify trends and correct or align with planned expectation
Develop operations systems by preparing the ground for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping
Support daily reporting to Div Manager, peers and when requested to customer on FE data
Interact with design, PE and PM on the testing methodologies and coverage associated to different structures and to CSP and EWS, assuring the right trade off in between quality, performance and cost
Analyze process workflow and implement changes where required together with PE and quality department
Interact with Analog central operation team for package development, equipment installation
Serve as primary point of contact for DAC in BE if required by Div management when there are customer issues affecting the service and or supply chain related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents
Help analyzing MRB issues when arising and linked to BE
Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
Maintain a good team spirit and a strong morale when the team is under pressure

Top skills: 

Leadership and team spirit: the candidate need to work with different organization (sales, manufacturing, GOBM) and departments and need to create a strong team spirit and consensus on the decisions. Alignment of all stake holders is a must

People Management, not only for direct reportings but also for the enlarged team of stakeholders
Data Entry, data analysis Skills: fundamental to increase/learn the efficiency also comparing other similar technologies

Reporting Skills: monitoring and data analysis are crucial for organizing a synthesis on the action with consequent reporting to peers, management and in some case exposure to customer

Deadline-Oriented and closed loop approach: necessity to delegate but also to maintain a constant pace on results monitoring
Budget and financials know how: all operation are intended to match with GM expectations. The link with GM is made by optimizing testing and testing cost, cost of process and productivity (NRT)

Stress Tolerance & Adaptability: we are exposed to a very demanding top customers requiring time flexibility and tolerance to pressure. Also the business model implies a tight scheduling with a very short time in between development, start of production and time to volume

Basic knowledge of BCD8, H9/CMOS, smart power analog process and technologies

Basic knowledge of EWS, CSP testing platforms and testing methodologies of smart power IC and PMIC

Solid network with ST manufacturing team, GOBM and OSAT is a preferred option

Learning from mistakes and post mortem analysis with the possibility to suggest new ways to improve the effectiveness and to translate into new procedures

Flexibility on travelling: frequent travels to Korea, Taiwan, China and Italy are necessary, also with a long stay option
