Job description

STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Technician within the Assembly Process Engineering Department. 

The Technician shall we working on Day or 4-shift DDRO (Day/Day/Rest/Off) working pattern.

Duties & Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Guiding Maintenance Technicians during interventions to ensure impact on the product and its quality is minimal or eliminated and completing the necessary checks on the output of the product during or/ and after interventions.
  • Processing and setting up of equipment according to the specifications required for Engineering lots.
  • Collecting any necessary data, as well as performing the required evaluations on the material and/or process.
  • Collecting and monitoring internal indicators, establishing weakness, risks, and opportunities to improve the process.
  • Performing audits and line assessments and/or readiness and suggesting areas of improvement.
  • Compiling and executing action plans for continuous improvements in quality, yield, and production.
  • Supporting the production and maintenance team to improve the equipment OEE (overall Equipment Efficiency) and providing the necessary technical support to implement such requirements.
  • Carrying out any troubleshooting needed to sustain the overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and quality.
  • Liaising with the Assembly Engineering team to sustain an efficient day to day productivity output and meeting the assembly lines requirements with the desired Quality and yield.
  • Supporting the Quality team in data collection, analysis, simulations, action implementations, and audit requirements.
  • Following specifications, the OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan) and MRB (Material Review Board) instructions and taking decisions on non-conforming Lots or materials.
  • Performing other duties which are carried out by the technician when necessary.

 

Profile

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate shall:

  • Possess an MQF level 4 Qualification in a Technical/Engineering related subject or comparable certifications together with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related industrial environment.
  • Possess good technical knowledge of Assembly equipment and process.
  • Be able to drive projects and overcoming obstacles.
  • Be assertive and approach situations with a challenge.
  • Be smart, dynamic and goal oriented.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Very Good command of English both written & spoken.
  • Be flexible, adaptable to the work requirements and able to take decisions following continuous inputs.
  • Be computer literate especially Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Be disciplined, motivated and willing to work in a team. 

 

The following shall be considered as an asset:

  • Possess at least 3 years’ experience in the Assembly Semiconductor Industry especially in the Assembly processes in conjunction with hands on experience in the field.
  • Experience in Wafer preparation process.

 

*Internal employees wishing to apply for the role need to have at least 1+ year experience in the previous job grade.
