STMicroelectronics has an excellent opportunity for Sr. Buyer for the Coppell, TX office. The Sr Buyer will be responsible for suppliers, contract management, and review of purchase  requests for commodity groups assigned.


  • Review purchase requests for commodity groups assigned, assure timely delivery, at specified quality, quantity and best prices for the company.
  • Provide leadership and supplier management for categories assigned.
  • Strong knowledge of negotiations and methods.
  • Solicit and manage the evaluation, negotiation, and award contracts as per standard SOPs.
  • Handle contracts, including contractual terms, contract     validation, contract monitoring.
  • Review the overall value offered by existing suppliers and ensure purchasing remains competitive.
  • Review quotes, orders, and second sources for cost saving opportunities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal customers and supply chain partners.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice         discrepancies.
  • Perform work independently.
  • Honest, ethical, inclusive, transparent, leads by example.
  • Follow established directions and SOPs.
  • Solve routine and complex problems.
  • Participate in cross functional teams.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • 8-10 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously along with excellent time management skills and customer service skills. Computer proficient with knowledge of SAP and Ariba preferably.
  • LEAN Management skills preferred.
  • A strong application of strategic Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, supplier management and other procurement principles.
  • Successful negotiation experience, contract management and execution.
  • Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint), experience. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
