6 Months Internship: Tx analog predistortion for 5G PA in advanced technology

 

One of the most challenging parameters for an RF transmitter or Power Amplifier is the linearity, especially for integration in “regular” CMOS. The 5G standards have stringent linearity specs, which require specific linearization techniques to be integrated on the IC, together with the main signal path.

This work deals with the design of a linearization TX analog predistortion, to address broadband 28GHz and beyond applications. We target low power consumption and low complexity structure. Several topologies will be investigated in 65PDSOI technology for 28GHz and B55 technology at and beyond 60GHz. The main challenge will be to provide an independent control on the overall bandwidth for different power levels, in order to fulfill the 5G requirements.

 

The 6 months internship can be continued with a PhD thesis is the candidate is satisfactory.
