STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit an Automation Support Specialist within the DIIT Department.

The main responsibilities are related to supporting the existing network based on Cisco equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

• To support users in the areas of automation. This mainly involves EICs, Activity manager, Material Control Systems Class 5 and Automation Equipment Hosts
• Incident support: to resolve incidents reported by users by analysing/debugging the business cases versus application behavior whenever necessary
• To design, develop and deploy workaround to resume production activities
• Change support: to collect and analyse user requirements and work with respective application teams for existing application enhancement
• To handle application qualification and acceptance test (UAT) of new applications release or even new applications
• To participate in the design or even development of applications working closely with other application teams, equipment supplier and external software providers
• Development and maintenance of automation applications in conjunction with internal team members and central resources

• Hold a degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology

• Have a positive attitude and a proactive mind set towards challenging situation
• Experience in a similar role shall be considered an asset
• Knowledge in the following areas would be considered as an asset:
   o Languages: C# .Net, PHP, SQL, TSQL
   o Markup: XML, HTML, CSS
   o Other: AJAX, JSON, UML
   o Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design
   o Familiarity with Git or some other source management system
   o Familiarity with Unit Testing and Integration Testing.
   o Experience in Unix, Linux and Windows environment administration
   o Familiarity with SEMI and SECS/GEM
   o Familiarity with SecsSimPro, Fast TAP Framework, TIBCO Rendezvous, TIBCO EMS
   o Familiarity with any workflow framework
